Yeoman: Two roles left me exhausted
Owain Yeoman has joked that he put the mental into his TV show The Mentalist - by double jobbing on a horror movie.
The Welsh actor, best known for his role as Agent Wayne Rigsby, took on a part in the film Laid To Rest while also shooting the latest series of the hit crime show.
"I finished the show at 6pm and at 8pm I'd go over to the Laid To Rest set and film it - it was all night, from 8pm until 4am - and then at 6am I'd start again on The Mentalist after about an hour's sleep," he explained.
"For three weeks I was like, 'What am I doing, this is mental!' I was putting the mental in Mentalist... I was playing an insomniac, which was perfect because I wasn't getting much sleep, and nothing looks like you're sleep derived more than when you're sleep deprived.
"They were like, 'Wow he's really into it. I was like, 'No I'm really just not sleeping because I don't have any time' but I think the reason that studios, networks pay the sums of money they do is because they're buying your time and you are exclusively their property."
And Owain, 33, still appreciates his luck in landing a role in the US show.
"I never understand those people who go, 'Oh God, I've just been stuck on this show forever' and I'm like, 'Sorry, you've been stuck on this show, getting ridiculous sums of money to do your craft,'" he added.
The Mentalist Season 3 is out now on Blu-ray and DVD, on Warner Home Video.
